🗓️ Event Overview

The MTA Peakles Cup Pickleball Tournament 2026 is set to bring together pickleball players and enthusiasts for an exciting day of competition and community celebration in Melaka.

Jointly organised by Persatuan Pelancongan Negeri Melaka (MTA) and Peakles, the tournament aims to promote pickleball as a growing recreational and competitive sport while positioning Melaka as an active sports-tourism destination. As an open competition, a limited number of slots are reserved for VIPs and guests.

The event brings together players, sponsors, media and the local community for a day of competitive play, entertainment and networking — complete with opening ceremony elements (kompang and traditional dance performances) and MVP awards presented at the close of the event.

📝 Registration Details

Open Team — Open category, no DUPR restriction RM800 per team (flat rate) 6–8 players per team

Mixed Double — Combined DUPR 6.5 RM240 per team (standard rate) RM210 per team with Malaccan club code (for Melaka-registered clubs)

Men's Double — Combined DUPR 6.5 RM240 per team (standard rate) RM210 per team with Malaccan club code (for Melaka-registered clubs)

Registration Closing Date: 21 October 2026

Important Note: Of the 32 team slots per category in Men's Double and Mixed Double, 8 slots are reserved for Melaka-registered clubs registering with the Malaccan club code at the discounted rate; the remaining 24 slots per category register at the standard rate.

Open Team — 16 Teams (Open category, no DUPR restriction, 6–8 players/team - 3 Female & 3 Male at least, International Players are Welcome)

Mixed Double — 32 Teams (Combined DUPR 6.5)

Men's Double — 32 Teams (Combined DUPR 6.5)

Total capacity: 80 teams across all three categories

🥉 2nd Runner-Up — RM1,888 Cash Prize + Crystal Medal + Mock Cheque + Merchandise worth RM400

🥇 Gold (Champion) — RM1,988 Cash Prize + Crystal Medal + Mock Cheque + Bonia Merchandise Worth RM2,000 + Paddle Credits RM1000

🥈 Silver — RM988 Cash Prize + Crystal Medal + Mock Cheque + Paddle Credits RM800

🥉 Bronze — RM588 Cash Prize + Crystal Medal + Mock Cheque + Paddle Credits RM600

🧮 Tournament Format

The tournament will be conducted in two stages for Men's Double and Mixed Double:

Stage 1 – Group Stage Round Robin format to determine qualification for the knockout rounds.

Stage 2 – Knockout Stage Round of 16 → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Bronze → Final

Open Team follows a Group Stage (Women's Doubles - Men's Doubles - Mixed Double 1- Mixed Double 2 - (Tie Breaker if 2-2)) into a Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Bronze → Final knockout format.

Note: Schedule may be adjusted depending on match progression. Opening ceremony elements (kompang, traditional dance, official photos) will be slotted in during the Briefing window or another break, at MTA's discretion.

📌 Player Eligibility

This tournament will be conducted using a Combined DUPR Rating format for Men's Double and Mixed Double.

⚡ Men's Double & Mixed Double The combined DUPR rating of both players must not exceed DUPR 6.500 (Max Capped DUPR 3.500).

⭐ Open Team An open category with no DUPR restriction, open to players of all skill levels. Teams may field 6–8 players.

All matches will be submitted to DUPR. All participating players must ensure their DUPR accounts are valid and verifiable at the time of registration.

⚠️ Verification & Compliance Policy

If any discrepancy, doubt, or inconsistency is found in a player's DUPR account, or if a formal complaint is received from other participants, the organiser reserves the right to take immediate action.

• The player/team may be disqualified from the tournament without refund.
• All match results involving the disqualified player/team may be voided.
• Partner changes may still be allowed, subject to organiser approval.

📘 Rules & Regulations

• All matches will be conducted in accordance with the official tournament rulebook.
• Players are expected to uphold sportsmanship, fair play, and tournament etiquette throughout the competition.
• All participants must use paddles that comply with USAPA/UPA-A specifications. Tournament officials reserve the right to inspect any paddle and may require players to switch paddles if it does not meet the required standards.

🎥 Media & Photography Consent

By participating in the MTA Peakles Cup Pickleball Tournament 2026, players and spectators consent to photography, videography, and media recording during the event, including optional livestream coverage. Such materials may be used for promotional, marketing, and social media purposes by the organisers and partners.

• All registration fees are non-refundable, except in the event of tournament cancellation or postponement.
• In the event of cancellation, a full refund will be issued to registered teams.
• In the event of postponement, teams may either retain their registration for the rescheduled date or request a refund.
• Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are medically and physically fit to compete.
• The organiser shall not be held liable for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred during the tournament.
• All decisions made by the tournament organisers and referees are final.
