🏓 Welcome to PSM Cup !

Thank you for joining us at the first-ever PSM Cup , a celebration of pickleball passion, community spirit, and friendly competition! This tournament is proudly brought to you by Pickleball Social Malaysia (PSM) with the aim of promoting the sport and uniting players from all backgrounds.

This handbook contains important tournament details, rules, and policies to ensure everything runs smoothly and fairly.

🔹 1. Event Purpose & Categories

This tournament is held to grow pickleball in Malaysia and provide players of all skill levels an enjoyable, competitive platform.

We have several event categories:
• Intermediate Doubles
• Novice Doubles –
Beginners welcome (see eligibility guide below)

🔹 2. Tournament Guidelines
• Any player found to breach and manipulate DUPR will be disqualified even after winning without refund.
• All matches will be played using Facolos Tournament balls and official nets provided by Pickle lah Monkey Canopy
• Each match should be conducted in the spirit of fair play, honesty, and mutual respect.
• Players that will be on the podium to receive your prize have to wear the shirt that is given by the organisers for the picture.

🔹 3. Match Rules & Format
• Group Matches: Rally scoring to 15 points ( Sudden Death). Switch sides at 7.
• Knockout: Rally 15 (serve to win 14-14)
• Semi Finals, Bronze, Finals: Rally 21 (Serve to win at 20-20)
• Serving: Underhand serves only; must clear the kitchen and land diagonally.
• Two-Bounce Rule: Ball must bounce once per side before any volleys.
• Kitchen Rules: No volleying from the non-volley zone; stepping in after contact is a fault.

🔹 4. Referees, Cards & Conduct
• Matches are mostly self-officiated. Referees are available for disputes, especially in finals.
• A red card may be given instantly for serious misconduct.
• All players are expected to be respectful to opponents, teammates, and crew.

🔹 5. Check-In
• Check-in is required 90 minutes before your category starts.
• A short player briefing will be held 30 minutes before your first game.

🔹 6. Changes & Withdrawals
• Partner changes are allowed until 11 August 2025, no penalty.
• After that, only emergency changes will be considered with a small RM30 admin fee.
• No partner changes after check-in.
• No Refunds will be entertain unless event is cancelled.
-Scheduling are subject to changes at the discreet of the tournament director to the best interest of the tournament.

🔹 7. Safety
• Bring your own water and wear proper indoor sports shoes.
• Personal items are your own responsibility.

Novice Category
🥇 RM1500 | 🥈 RM800 | 🥉 RM500

Intermediate
🥇 RM3000 | 🥈 RM1500 | 🥉 RM800

Note: Prizes may be adjusted based on registration numbers in each category.

🔹 9. Novice Player Policy

To ensure fairness in the Novice division:
• Players without a DUPR account may register freely.
• Players with DUPR must have a rating below 3.099 at time of registration.
• Any player discovered to exceed this limit may be disqualified without refund.
• Only certified coaches are permitted for coaching (IPF, PPA, PPR).

By participating in the PSM Cup , you agree that photos or videos of you may be taken and used by organizers for promotional purposes.
