Description
Eligibility
- Organiser reserves the right to make changes to the tournament rules at any time. Changes will be communicated via email and WhatsApp
- Each team must consist minimum of 4 players, with at least 2 male and 2 female players , or maximum 6 player 3 male and 3 female
- All participants must have a valid DUPR rating; all matches will be recorded to DUPR.
- Players under 18 require a signed parental/guardian consent letter on the event day.
- The event is open to Malaysian only
DUPR Restriction
Team must stay within the following DUPR limits:
- 6-player team (3 Male + 3 Female):
- Combined DUPR (all 6 players) must not exceed 20.0.
- Each player can only play one game per set.
- 4-player team (2 Male + 2 Female):
- Combined DUPR (all 4 players) must not exceed 13.5.
- Players are allowed to repeat games within the same set.
Teams without full DUPR ratings will be verified by the organiser or coach.
Any team exceeding the DUPR cap may be required to adjust their lineup or risk disqualification.
Team Size Options
Teams must register under one of two formats only:
- 4 Players – 2 Male + 2 Female
- 6 Players – 3 Male + 3 Female
Player Participation Rules
- For 6-player teams:
- ➤ Each player may only play one match per team set (either Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, or Mixed Doubles).
- ➤ All 6 players must participate equally across the event.
- For 4-player teams:
- ➤ Players are allowed to repeat matches within the same set if needed.
- ➤ Team captain must ensure fair player rotation and gender balance across matches.
Team Event Format
- Each match consists of 3 games:
- 1 × Men’s Doubles
- 1 × Women’s Doubles
- 1 × Mixed Doubles
- Scoring System:
- All games are played to 21 rally points, with sudden death at 20–20 (next point wins).
- No deuce, no win by 2.
- Points-Based Ranking System:
- Every point scored contributes to the team’s total group points.
- Group ranking is based on total points scored, not match wins.
- Estimated Duration: 70 minutes per team match (including changeovers and buffer).
Tournament Format & Rules
- Group Stage: 28 teams split into 7 groups of 4. Each team plays 3 matches (round robin).
- Advancement:
- Top 2 teams from each group (14) + best 2 third-placed teams (based on total points scored) → 16 teams advance to knockout.
- Knockout Stage: Round of 16 → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Final. ( best of 3 )
- Group Ranking Criteria:
- Total Points Scored
- Point Difference (Points For – Points Against)
- Head-to-Head Result (if still tied)
- Random Draw (if still tied)
- Players must report to their court on time. A 10-minute no-show results in an automatic walkover.
- No umpires for group stage or knockout rounds (except 3rd Place & Final). Players call their own lines. Disputes unresolved by players may be decided by the Tournament Director (replay if necessary).
- For 3rd Place and Final, there will be Umpires to call score and kitchen faults (line calls still made by players).
- Timeouts: None for Group Stage, Quarterfinals, or Semifinals. Final & 3rd Place: 1 × 1-minute timeout per team per game.
- Hydration breaks allowed during play (<30 seconds, bottle on court).
- Injury Timeout: 10 minutes cumulative per team; if play cannot continue, match is forfeited.
- All results recorded in DUPR. Players must be registered, linked, and have a visible profile picture.
- Team name or player changes after 29th November , 6 PM not allowed (disqualification if breached).
- Seeding for Knockouts based on:
- Group Points Total
- Point Difference
- DUPR Rating
- Seeds will be arranged to avoid early clashes between groupmates.
- All matches will follow USAPA Pickleball Rules unless otherwise stated in this fact sheet.
Paddle Rules
- No formal inspection, but paddles must meet USAPA specifications.
- The Tournament Director may request a paddle change if not compliant.
Prize Money
Total Prize Pool – RM16,000
- Champion: RM8,000
- 1st Runner-Up: RM5,000
- 2nd Runner-Up: RM3,000
